    Rangers Want David Bentley

QPR want to sign David Bentley from Tottenham but at less than half the £16m Spurs paid Blackburn for the midfielder according to today's Metro.

Also says Bolton hope to beat QPR to the signing of SWP by offering the player a cut of the transfer fee to make up for the disparity in wages he will receive at the Reebok Stadium.

No doubt his agent would like to think so. I doubt that Warnock is the slightest bit interested.

not a big fan of his. Looked very ordinary for birmingham and no where near worth the money talked about.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Another case of paying over the odds for a poor player as theyre a "big name" purely based on the fact they were once dubbed as a "wonderkid". Never has lived upto his potential and, may be totally wrong here, but he comes across as the sorta player that is more than happy to collect a wage without having to try too hard on the pitch, cant imagine him ever putting a shift in when the going gets tough.

Hope this is just paper talk tbh.

Less than half? If we paid a tenth of that £16m Spurs have had our eyes out frankly

Think its a case of the metro having to fill some column inches. Simply playing the game of name a player, name a club and make a quick story. When it comes off they'll say we brought you the news first and when it doesn't it won't matter because they'll have made hundreds of other crazy predictions since.

Yeah, the thing is he showed promise in that side but has never kicked on since and if anything has gone backwards.

NW likes to go for players that he can motivate back to their best. So be careful of what players you #### off, as they could be coming to a ground near you, and then you might have to change your tune a bit .

Bentley was always compared to Beckham but he was just a very pony version of him. He can't take on a man but he can pass a ball well and os decent at free kicks. Money would be much better spent elsewhere.

I think that was because he looked similar to Beckham, nothing in his football locker suggests he is similar to him in any other way.

He is compl[etely average at best and more worried about what his hair looks like than putting in a shift. I don't think Warnock would want him as there are far far better and cheaper options around.

Personally if we are looking to raid Spurs reserves - and it could be a very rich hunting ground for us - I would love Kranjar and Jenas, and if you want to throw in Basong I'd be made up.
