Perhaps. I don't see Parker as the be all and end all. He is a very good player, and would be a modern day John Gregory for us, but if it isn't purely a publicty stunt it is encouraging they are at least looking to spend that kind of money. Think it would be crazy for a club our size to spend anything like £8m on a player the wrong side of 30, but for £4m he would be a blinding buy. The good news is that now the big boys are having to think seriously about who is going to make their squads there will be a lot of v good players available (Jenas being another). There are plenty of options when you have a bit of money, the hard job is the one poor old Neil has been struggling with until now, namely trying to get half decent players without a transfer budget.
