I don't understand why people get so obsessed with how much cash has been spent, it's irrelevant as it's about who you bring in.

We have bought in Bothroyd who got in the England squad only last year for free, instead of approx £5m worth in the market - Excellent.

Campbell was touted by some in the media as a possible call up for England on merit, given the consistency he was scoring at one point last year, and we've bagged him for £1.25m - again excellent.

Add Dyer who could be injured, but if fit could be a revelation. On a pay as you play there's nothing to lose - Excellent business also given he cost £6m and was paid fortunes not long ago.

Gabbidon is nothing to write home about, but he is a decent Prem proven player who cost nothing also.... Good business.

The owners may not splash the cash, why would they when looking to sell, but they are nothing if not very shrewd. The players we have will help us maintain prem status in my eyes and the asset becomes more valuable as a result. Not to mention, as they haven't wasted money now, there may be funds to use if required in Jan to bolster our chances.

If they'd got duds on the cheap form the lower leagues then i'd be annoyed, but as it is i'm quite content personally.

Agree with all of that. Before any of the 3 Championship sides brought players in we had the better team of the tree. We haven't lost anyone thankfully and of the three sides we have bar far strengthened the best for by far the least amount of money. In my eyes we are fighting for a place somewhere between 14th and 18th. I just hope we finish 17th or better.

Shrewd/frugal transfer policy from billionaires where a dozen or so Mill wouldn't even register is boring - whats wrong with good old fashioned spending spree? Exciting for the paying customers.

The guys in power who own our club, there is no love there. They are fuelled by having money not spending it. Any spending they do will be pushed into the club as a loan from them. So you'd financial ruin just so we could go on a big spending spree? Too many people think we are a big fish when we are not. We missed the commercial rise in the Premiership due to bad boardroom management and now we are back in the big league I don't want us to try and punch above our weight. I'd be happy for us to do a Stoke/Wolves/Bolton/Fulham and become an established Premiership for the years to come.

Dug in deep down the back of the sofa to be responsible for 0.5% of the total.

Wouldn't we all - but don"t forget those teams have had to spend decent money to survive/consolidate - not free transfers and loans
