Seriously people r overrating cole.

I'm saying he can't play in the starting 11 because we have adel. Who IMO is getting better and joe unfortunately on going the other way. People say he works his nuts off but you ask a liverpool fan that question. He isn't the same player he was 4 years ago but people seem to struggle with that concept.

Well, we all know what he's capable of. IF he signs, let's just hope he gets a fresh start here and show why he is a England international.

he's a top player WeAre that has been dogged by injury last few seasons. If he gets fit and Warnock man manages him then i reckon we will see the Joe Cole from a few seasons ago...class is permanent mate

Always saw you as a decent poster but like I said you are talking about the joe cole of 3 or 4 years ago. Yes I believe warnock could work on his confidence which is shot to pieces.

Nodge I ask you this, I know it won't happen because the owners know joe would cost money, but would you rather spend 30-40k a week on joe's wages or improve what is clearly 1 of the worst defences in the division? I wouldn't want to play adel and cole in the same team.

Very valid point WeAre! IMO, id much rather use those wages to get in 2 good defenders, ideally a fullback, on 20k a week you should be abel to sign a decent defender. Attacking wise, with Adel, DJ, Bothroyd, Dyer, Smith and Buzz we, i think, are more than capable of a 17th place finish at least. It really is our defence that needs sorting.

Class is permanent, and I would love for us to sign Cole. He is a Warnock type of player, he has got something to prove

But cant see it happening really. We already have a massively unbalanced squad

- Bothroyd is our only top quality striker, with Helguson as good backup
- We only have 2 defensive midfielders
- Only 2 fullbacks
- Then we have Taarabt, Smith, Mackie, Ephraim, Dyer, Vaagan Moen, Buzsaky all fighting for 3 places in the team. Add Cole and Puncheon to that list and its utter madness

Joe Cole would be the best player in our squad by a million miles. He is better than Adel. People need to realise that. Cole can do it in the big leagues as has been proven while Adel has it all to do.

Where would he play though ? and he has as much chance of playing for England again in a competitive game as Bothroyd does. He is and will always be an ex international.

I'd assume that if we were able to afford Joe Cole then it won't be T&C paying for it and therefore it might not be an either/or situation that WeAre is suggesting.

I'd love to have Joe Cole in the squad. Even if he isn't the player he once was he still a lot lot better than the vast majority of the squad!
