As it's been said, i think it's got Everton written all over it.

Would love him here though, him and Ali in the middle would be a dream

Does this mean Newcastle will still sell Routledge to Swansea?

Will be a great signing. Superb player although I think if any of us realistically think we have any chance of signing him we need ours head examined!

Get him on the phone asap, offer him a deal and sign him. Other bigger clubs will probably take a risk on him now he is on a free

Probably going to Villa? They've lost Downing and Young..

Would love that. Certainly worth breaking our supposed 25k a week wage structure for. Imagine him and Faurlin in the middle of the park spraying balls forward for Bothroyd, Adel, Dyer & (hopefully) DJ.... If only eh!

There were rumours last week Fergie might take a gamble on him, and if not, they'd be countless takers. I'm sure even Arsenal were mentioned a few weeks back and he's exactly what they need.... what on earth makes anyone think he would come to us....?

He will go to either Villa or Tottenham (replacement for Modric).

We could not offered his wages as dont forget our owners dont spend money and the new owner coming in, will not spend the rest of his fortune as Joey will want silly money

Yep, he wrote on Twitter at the weekend apparently defending Jose Enrique who slammed their lack of ambition after they lost to Leeds. Barton said: "If only we as players could tell the fans exactly how it is, without them above fining us lots of money. There will be a time and a place. If it wouldn’t effect team morale and cause unrest within the dressing room, am certain Jose’s comments would be the tip of the iceberg..."
