Just to clear this up.....YES you can record the game.

Once you have pressed record on football First thats when the list of games are available and you can record which ever one you like.

That`s good but can foresee more expense as the skybox hard disk will fill up quickly - so I will need to get a recordable dvd player to keep them all.
