he scored the goals that got us promoted and then earned us a few quid in transfer fees.

Rodney Marsh for siting in the stands that night with a QPR scarf round his neck, really pissing Gerry Francis off who then left, which was the start of 15 years in the wilderness for QPR FC

A few years back I watched a documetary about Jones. I think it was put together after his "breakthrough" as an actor(bob, bob)lol.
When he reflected on his memories from fotball,he said his biggest dream was to come back to one of his former clubs QPR as a manager.

                  You´ll never know..

For me it'd be Hateley. Totally inadequate replacement for Ferdinand, and the ear cupping crap he pulled after hitting his 3rd goal in something like 30+ appearances was just a complete pi$$ take.

Have to say think it's a bit harsh on Dichio. Was offered a chance to go and play for Sampdoria (who were in Europe as well) with top class players. At Rangers he was getting a bit of a raw deal from Houston and Rioch getting benched for such talents as Slade and Charles. Never had a problem with someone taking a once in a lifetime opportunity and he never talked badly of the club.

Not sticking up for Jones becuase he's a class A tw@t. The problem was (and has been as well over recent years at the club) he was given a stupid contract that stated he would be made Manager if Harford went. When he did the board did a U turn and Dowie got it. Jones could have royally screwed the club but actually walked away to go and make movies.

Great point mate, at the end of the day its their job and if any of us in our chosen industry got the opportunity to move to a much larger and more succesful company with a bigger wage i dont think any of us could honestly say we wouldnt take it.

My personal chose for this thread (am too young to clearly remember alot of the names banded around!) is actually Clarke Carlisle: the fact we helped him through his injury and his alcoholism only for him to show absolutely zero loyalty i found bang out of order. And, previous paragraph aside, i do think when he had been helped as much as we helped him he should have at least shown abit of loyalty.

Didnt he want sort himself out at a club away from the "bright lights" of London really?

                        Just a thought.

Thats true but i do think that its pretty unfair to just abandon a club that helped turn your life around.

times have changed, so he could be right.
If you asked 10 football fans not loyal to fulham or rangers, I reckon 7 out of 10 would agree with Marshy atm.
