I tend to just forget about ex-Rs; certainly don't hate any. Having wracked my brains I can remember feelind a bit peeved when Dichio sodded off to Italy (was it Sampdoria?). I'm not a scholar of world football but even I knew that Italian clubs at that poiint used to buy loads of players for a few hundred thousand pounds from all over Europe and just give 'em a whirl - virtually all the players bought like that failed and went back "home" a season later; I think their "hit rate" at unearthing a gem was 1 in 1000 or something. Why Dichio chucked in a promising/developing career at Rs for such an ill-conceived jaunt mystified and eventually pee'd me off!Comment
