Champions one season, relegated the next?

    Actually not.

There has been 16 seasons of a 20 team Premiership since it's introduction in the 1995/96 season and in that time the promoted Champions have been relegated the following seasons on just 6 occasions. There have been four occasions where the team promoted as Champions have secured a top half finish and six times where the winners from the previous year has finished between 12th-15th.

Worryingly though is a pattern has emerged over the previous six seasons the champions from the Championship have been relegated, survived, survived, relegated, survived, survived.

And i think i read somewhere that in 7 of the last 8 seasons the team finishing in 3rd place (thru play offs) were relegated the season after too. So not looking good for Swansea in that case if that's true.
