yes of course would be happy... but i hope there are more signings to follow... if we are too lose AT and WR we need some creativity and width for the 2 new strikers to score...

More to the fact that it looks like we wont have Routledge either, we would be stronger up front, but will have no creativity in midfield. No point having the goalscorers without the creativity - so I hope these positions are also addressed. Mackie is a good player, but we need better to start in the Premiership
Faurlin is creative and Tommy Smith does a job too. Also, we're meant to be getting Bullard who's good enough.

Still plenty of options out there. These two signings will make other players interested. Could even open the door to get players like Reo-Coker to consider us as an option. Unlikely, but not unrealistic.

PVM might yet come good too.

Also dj scored 13 in a team with no player anywhere near adel's standard. I think with these 2 he may end up staying for a bit. I was always 50 50 on wayne....loves qpr but had loads of chances in prem and not done much. Centre back and full back would be nice now.

Adel was never going to be the same player in the prem and I think going to France is the easy but weaker option I think he is bottling the real challenge!

But if we can get Bullard , we need to replace wr and bustling surprise us all! He could be class in the prem.

Smith is a good player, but Faurlin sits back more than Adel - they are different kind of players. Id be happy with Bullard, I think he would be a good signing - but I think the main issue is a lack of pace. Adel is strong, and pretty quick for his size - hes great at dribbling with the ball. And Routledge has bags of pace, gets behind defenders and causes a threat. We need more pace in my opinion

Granted, nowhere near the skill level of Adel, but Charlie Adam is more of a 'complete' player for me. He was a huge player in the Prem last season for Blackpool. Plus they Had Vaughan at his best too. Some good players from midfield to attack in that side.

Firstly, we were the ones who accepted the bid. He didn't ask to leave. We weren't looking great, and Newcastle were top. Why wouldn't you leave? Plus they are a far bigger club than us. Secondly, who's to say he truely turned us down? I'm hearing more that we've pulled out of the deal to sign him. It deppends which press story you choose to believe, I guess?!

That said, I doubt he 'loves' us, but I don't agree with your reasons.

fair comment though i would say if someone loves somewhere (though your not saying that he did) he would have sacrificed something to get back to us, i know hard to know what to believe but it sounds like it failed on financial terms cos he wanted a loyalty bonus for leaving newcastle when he shoulda jumped at the chance to get back to us. anyway maybe not the end of it and we may see him back

Niether of them are worth getting excited about and at the moment, especially if AT goes we are bottom of the pile.

Great signings. £1.5 for the pair! Doubt you will see a prem club make a better value purchases (£6m for C. COle anyone?). Look at the prices Graham and Morrison went for!!! I think Jay and DJ are significantly better.

People who are unhappy haven't come up with a realistic name yet?

If we got Upson, Naughton and Bullard on top I would back Warnock to keep us up.

Compared to where I was feeling about the Rs this morning, I'd say this was exciting. Not quite sure who you expect to sign? Agree we need substantial further additions but with several new players of this calibre we will at least have a fighting chance of staying up.

if these come off would make our loss of graham cms morrison look like a lucky escape, esp for the money being quoted for them
