ok..there is an item on bbc sport called "the "secret of the fixture computer" and it tries to explain how fixtures are compiled..

it's almost a joke...

ie clubs share stewards, so have to alternate games, then theres local teams...police agreement, clubs may have certain dates they want to avoid
and it goes on
clubsa re "paired" to avoid clashes..ie west ham have daggers!!! but then southend ask to avoid a home game when hammers at home..

doesn't explain why qpr keep going to plymth boxing day ( computer does not UNDERSTAND DISTANCES!!!) when palace,reading , ****ford etc
