I would be EXTREMELY happy if we signed Jay Boothroyd.
It would also be quality if we could add Leon Best as well.
If so then I think we'd have two potential wannabe Sir Les Ferdinands.

If I'm being really greedy then i'd still love Jason Roberts to be part of the squad for odd cameos but his wages would be astro.

I just have a horrible feeling two cheaper options on the table.
1. Lita -- Boro desperado to offload
2. Goofy Earnshaw -- currently out of contract

Both will be good signings. First season in the Prem is about finishing 17th that means bringing in players that can compete with the likes of Swansea, Norwich, Wigan etc both Bullard and Bothroyd have the quality to make the difference.

I'd say our starting squad is already better than Blackpools was and they missed out on safety by a single point. Add those players and I think we'd definitely stay up. Unlike IH I don't think NW will risk drawing position with mins to go and lose valuable points. Pool lost 21 points from winning positions last season and finished with a better away record that Liverppol but looking at their squad 12 months ago would you have thought they'd only go down with 20 to go on the final day of the season? Hindsight is wonderful but nobody was saying DJ or Vaughan would succeed in that division.
