Currently as we enter the pre season we are full of Grafters:

Derry
Hill
Orr
Mackie
Smith
HH
Gorrks

WHich is good, every team needs them dont get me wrong.
With NW obviously looking to add to that, with names mentioned.

Again, hard working honest players, not blessed with pace or real ability.

With currently NO Routledge, we have Adel and maybe Faurlin who have "real Ability", and that is not enough.
You cannot survive a season with effort and passion.

For example, Blackpool, everything decent they did, came through there play maker and gifted talisman Adam, goals came through pace and finishing with DJ.

We need at least 2/3 decent players on the ball to compliment the battler's we currently have.

Good post Jeffro & last seasons blend was perfect to get us up but most definitely not enough for the coming season.

I'd be pretty sure you could drop Adel out of your list also seems the vultures are circling for real this time.

Its gonna be a real struggle as it stands. Very very disappointing.

James, I really dont know.
Neil is shrewd and certainly wouldnt spend money on a guy whos played half a game in 2 years..

Well give him all pre season and friendlies, see how he plays and performs, if he gets back to past level, will be our best player by a mile, but doubtful though.

Since when did Hargreaves, open up a team with a defence splitting pass, or beat 3 players and whip a ball in, or do what Routs and Adel do.

Of course he is gifted, but giftedin his role, and we already have a plethora of those types.

Agreed but to say he hasn't got real ability is a bit strong,any player that reaches that level has 'real abilty' in my opinion.

Which I wasn't suggesting, just pointing out hes more then a grafter. Do agree he's not a world beater but when he was fit was the real deal.

a fit hargreaves is the best player in our squad. on the world cup stage, champions league stage.. its a fact. adel has potential talent. but hasnt produced at those levels.

different players yes but theres a reason why hargreaves was at bayern munich and man utd and why adel has been in spurs reserves and a championship team for past 2 years.

not knocking adel, but hargreaves if fit is a signing and half. just like woodgate. problem is.. they cant play more than a handful of games between them.
