On the subject of Wilkins, he was a fool imho, good player crap manager, the signing of a croked Mark Hately led to our downfall along with all the other pony signings he made / players we lost

Oh yes fond memories of Mr Hately. Remember him being presented on the pitch and he hobbled on on a pair of crutches; only at QPR can a player pass a medical with one leg and on crutches (The lack of a medical has become somewhat of tradition in the bush since!!!)

Then there was Ned Zelic the only Aussie who could not settle in West London. You could not make it up

Always thought that Osbourne had the potential to be a decent player his only problem was he played in the bosses position

To this day I have never seen a better goalkeeping display than that against villa!! Problem was in typical jurgen fashion he let in a couple of dodgy goals against arsenal in the next game and that was him all over!

Agree Osbourne could have done better if played!

The bottom line is we missed Les so bad, trev had a great season that year, dichio did ok and Gallen came strong towards the end, that team should have stayed up under another manager we would have!!

To be fair to Wilkins I've always thought if he'd played himself (instead of Holloway I think, or was it Barker) against Coventry away towards the end of that season we'd have got a result and possibly stayed up.

Agree that Osborn could have been a good player for us though, especially so after we'd been relegated.
