I agree Pete. Only bit of comfort from Scott's post was he insisted it was Warnock's target which if true is fair enough.

Only niggling doubt is that he's being forced to look at these kind of players because of what he has to spend. Hoping not & its just a little gem he fancies.

I hope we have club-representatives who are monitoring the ongoing U-21 Championship in Denmark as well?? Accordingly 10 teams from the prem did follow the Switzerland -Denmark match last night. (according to the the commentator)

I should believe there are plenty of good players in this tournament? At least one of the players(A Nigerian by birth) who scored for Switzerland against England is playing for the Swiss U-21 team last week.

        Cheap?

What's the difference between trying to sign a player from a team in the playoffs in the Championship (e.g. Bothroyd/Graham etc) and Serie B playoffs?

At least it's not Serie C!

Anyway, Padova have knocked out Varese and Novara have beated Reggina.

Tonight is the final game: Padova vs Novara.

Anyone know who we might be looking at from the lineups of those 4 teams? Presumably, we wouldnt be able to sign anyone from the successful team.

mate this what confses me , surely swansea aswel as graham wold want to sign that contract asap, why coldnt they fax it? the reason its weird is that for example say graham had an accident on holiday and he hasnt signed a 30k a week contract hes fkd!! also swansea wold be worried he gets influenced to change his mind while away , not sure weve heard the end of this tbh

Exactly mate. The biggest move of his career & Swansea's record transfer in their HISTORY and he just farks off on holiday? Hmmmmm I'm not convinced.

Seems a gentlemans agreement has been made but until pen is to paper.

As you said a deal worth at least £6M in transfers & wages wouldn't the chairman / CEO spend £500 on a flight to Dubai where he is to get the papers signed.

              Interesting one.

Exactly hoopla. We all know what it smelt like when Faurlin signed and that didn't turn out too badly. Whether this has a whiff of Flavio or not let's see what Neil finds and let the player have a chance. If we were looking at Serie A players they would be from bottom half sides and people would say they aren't going to be in form. Instead we are probably looking at players who have been part of successful sides and are in form.

I won't be writing anyone off especially having seen the likes of Hill, Derry and Mackie perform.

                  Novara V Padova tonight.

Rubino is ok for Novara, and simone motta plays for them.

                  dont know anyone from padova.

or if you were graham about to sign that contract that would set him up for life, you fly out a day later? sure if you didnt want to fork out the dosh for new flight sure swansea would have paid. like i said he has an accident waterskiing whatever without that contract its bye bye £3 mill

                      Pete

I agree with you BUT if the fans want to act in a Championship/League One mindset by wanting to pay Championship/League One prices or by refusing to buy their season tickets either at all or at the very last minute, you can hardly blame the club's management for wanting to buy at the cheaper end of the spectrum

I would also add that we are run by a shrewd team including the manager. They see value for money and have got where they are today by following similar practices.

We have had manager's and boards in the past who have bought players that the fans wanted, yet when they turned out to be duds who did the fans blame ? Themselves ? Oh no, they blamed the board members that followed their advice in the first place !

So long as they are players that Neil Warnock genuinely wants, he can sign whoever he likes as far as I'm concerned.

In previous years i would have been "oh god" with this news. But well, in Neil we trust....to be honest i was never keen on Mackie, Derry and Hill!

In neil we trust and all that!
