re the 8 players being home grown rule - can see it works for the big clubs as forces them to take the academy seriously. but looking at that list there is not a hope in a month of sundays that any of our home growns will get near the team even allowing for a woeful lack of spending. German/ Balanta might get a couple of sub appearances in the league cup between them - that's about it isn't it? effectively it means we will only have a squad of 18 to work from. Will be tough.

I think under 21's are excempt from the 25, so presumably Andrade & German are clear.

But where are (and why missing ?) -
Balanta, Borrowdale, Vine, Alberti, Pellicori ?

Personally, I reckon 5+ will go from Pete's list, but if we're serious, it should be 8.

And if it's English, how's that work with Swansea? Will they go running off to FAW complaining that their home grown should be welsh?
Why the **** are we letting them play in England?

              EDIT: Here's your answer.

                The rules are:

Clubs must include eight home-grown players out of a squad of 25.

"A home-grown player will be defined as one who, irrespective of his nationality or age, has been registred with any club affiliated til the FA og the FA of Wales for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons or 36 months prior to his 21th birthday (or the end of the Season during which he turns 21)"
