Players from relegated teams.........Any good?

Can anyone tell me a player who has been relegated from the premiership in one season and then has been brought buy a promoted team the following season and has gone onto be successful for that team in that season?

What im wondering is it worth buying players from relegated teams?

Kanouté got relegated with West Ham, went on to be one of the best goalscorers in La Liga, although he wasn't spetacular at Surs.

Also Kevin Phillips from Sunderland to Southampton.

Throws out the whole arguement that players who get relegated haven't got a winning mentality or are good enough for the Premiership.
