Good enough for a SMALL CLUB like us.

    No fee.
Spot on. And also agree with Nodge.

Just as a side issue when was the last time - if ever - a player was released within a few months of making their debut for England?

I'd still have Nugent. Still miles better than what we have. Ricketts has retired

i think we should be aiming at players who wont be on for bits of a season and off for the rest i think we should look at players who have been consistent throughout the season at championship level such as Graham and Long both would be very good buys and i also like Billy Sharp wouldnt mind seeing him at Loftus Road

I like Nugent a lot as a player -precisely the kind of player who hasn't quite lived up to his undoubted ability and with Warnock's ability could really turn him into a good player.

We could do a LOT worse than Nugent.
Very good player, given the right manager/club.

70 games, 7 goals in the Prem and a few minutes in a meaningless friendly for England.

Far worse pedigree than Helguson, far more ego and far less workrate.

Generally agree with most things you say, but definitely not on Bothroyd.

As we are in need of a few strikers would sign him and use him as back up/sub. Don't think anyone is suggesting we will use him in all games to lead our front line in the Prem, that would be a big ask. But certainly good enough for squad and free.

Destination Goodison Park by all accounts with Fulham waiting in the wings.

So people on here think he isnt good enough for us but Everton or Fulham may take a punt, why not have him as a free, he will not be our only striker he says hoping.

Hilarious if true - as not good enough apparently for the mighty Queens Park Rangers...

Not sure we should think like this.

I worry about his workrate as he can be very lazy and comes in and out of games. I'd rather we spent on real quality upfront because I think thats why Birmingham went down.

He would want big wages and I would rather we signed a quality striker and put the wages into someone with a better track record.

He is no doubt quality at championship level though.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Yea iŽd like us to sign him. He scored 18 goals for Cardiff this season, which betters Helgusons 13. That aint bad for a big fella. However IŽd hope we also sign another striker who has experience against top opposistion, i.e a PL experienced striker
