    Are we fit enough?

Not as daft as it sounds this...
I've always felt the top teams in prem are really fit and most players are amazing athletes. I was pretty gobsmacked at Old Trafford the other year when their players put in the terrier-like hustling and closing down far more than ours did - they made us look leaden frankly.
I know for an absolute fact that Liverpool's coaching staff were dismayed at Carroll's lack of fitness and strength when he arrived at Anfield. Not talking about him being injured but his general fitness and physiology. Clearly there was a gulf between Liverpool's and Newcastle's training/fitness regimes.
So, how do we shape up? Are we fit enough to take on all comers in the prem... a few years ago I'd say it was a given that a NW side would be fit for anything; like snarling pitbulls. Today, he seems more relaxed and preapred to tolerate mavericks like Adel. I reckon all the players will have to be in peak fitness every game next season and nobody will getaway with nursing a niggle or such like.
Ultimately I'll take it on the chin if we get outplayed and lose next season, I'll be gutted if we get "out-worked" and lose though.

I thought our fitness levels were far higher this season than in previous seasons, but the older players might find it harder to keep up next year. We need a good pre-season and to lower the average age of the team a bit.

The clubs physios and nutritionists will have drawn up diet and workout plans for each player for the summer and I would imagine they'll be looking for a whole new level of fitness.
