Certain players previous clubs have promotion clauses like Mackie for example and poor old plymouth could do with the money

Good point, Plymouth - Mackie, Adel - Spurs and more all have clauses written into their contracts re promotion and sell on etc.

No minefield at all, if that did happen we would not be promoted, so no money would need to be paid out.The biggest problem that would cause resentment and major problems, is would the club pay the coaching staff and players who have bonuses linked to them being promoted.
