The Moon Under Water, some two-and-a-half hours after Queens Park Rangers had sealed promotion. The party was incredible, with "We Shall Not Be Moved" ringing around the pub for many a time.
At the back were some long-time QPR fans, one of whom had only known Rangers to win 5 times in his history of going to Vicarage Road (for me, it was my first time seeing us win at Vicarage Road, having missed the 4-2 victory some years ago).
The discussion came up of Queens Park Rangers fans. "To Stevie Edwards," said one of them - and suddenly names were being reeled off of those Rangers fans who no doubt watched - and celebrated - our promotion in Heaven.
Speaking of Heaven, when the result of the FA's decision comes through, I'll be in a church in Oxfordshire, supporting my mother as we bury my grandmother, who died last Saturday.
And so when a toast was raised to 'absent friends', I couldn't help but think: Indeed.
