People from Cardiff and south Wales.

They're not even proper Welsh. I've never met a South Walian that speaks Welsh, and that includes a couple of curators I've had to deal with from the National Welsh Museum in Cardiff! True Walians live in the north and are proud enough of their country to at least learn their own language.

    Wannabe English in my opinion.

The north/south divide in Wales is certainly an interesting one, those up north tend to claim that speaking the lingo makes them 'more Welsh' than those from the South and the Valleys. This is of course complete bull and no more than 10% of the country speak the lingo anyway.

Wales wastes £M's every year on bi-lingual literature and road signs which in truth benefits few. I can understand some road signs, "Croeso i Gymru" for example, one for the tourists which translates as "Welcome to Wales" but Council tax bills!!! You're 'avin a laugh…

As for those in the North being more Welsh……more druidic and inbred maybe……but not more Welsh.

Oh and QPR simply must win on Saturday or I'm gonna be seriously out of pocket. Playing 5-a-side football yesterday in Leckwith near Cardiff's stadium in my QPR shirt, confidence is high here for a Cardiff win, please QPR do this for me….

I used to work in and around Cardiff a lot, every person i met classes themselves as Welsh. In no way do they want to be English, they are welsh and proud of it.
As for not hearing people speak welsh, you only have to go in to a proper welsh pub and it's all you hear, the tv showing welsh channels etc.

For my sins, I have a huge extended family around Llanelli, Carmarthen and Pontadulais. They all speak Welsh. All the bleeding time.

They think that all those from North Wales are either Scousers or six fingered cottage burning freaks.

Down West is where the majority of the Welsh speakers are not up North, but there still is quite a lot around South Wales. You will hear Welsh all over the tannoys on the weekend if your going.

The highest amount of Welsh speakers on average are up in North Wales. This does not make us any more Welsh than those in South Wales.
