Can we give the lad a break now maybe ?

Ive read a lot of stick on here about Matt Connolly.A young lad we we all seemed to have rated but many seem to have got on his back of late.

Rightly or wrongly or for what ever reason, but he seems to have gone though a bad patch.Would like to hear from fans at the match, but we didn't ship in any goals so i would like to think he had a good game.

Personally, ive always rated him but that just my opinion. When he comes out on Monday night, i for one will be clapping him and giving him 100 per cent.

Just like Faurlin, he needs are support...just my thoughts

SP fairplay, i rate him and think he has a bright future, but times like this can make or break a player. As fans sometimes, we can get on players backs...not on purpose...but we just do.Glad he did well tonight, not preaching, just my thoughts.

I have seen some good arguements for and against him on here, but seen some pretty awful comments about him.

I rate Matty but he is definately a different player now in comparison to the first half of the season.

Personally thought he was a accident waiting to happen first half but sorted himself out in the second so fair play to him. I have always thought he would be an outstanding right back rather then centre back but each to their own.

Must say Kasper has stepped up to the plate since being recalled so credit were its due

I thought the whole back 4, especially in the 2nd half were brilliant. They threw themselves at everything. Didn't give the Barnsley forwards a sniff!

Agree mate Heider literally threw himself in the dugout; thought he had hurt himself but then charged back on the pitch!!!!!

Over the top praise by some attracts over the top criticism by others when the player is going through a bad patch.

Matt Connolly is OK, nothing special. He had a very shaky first half causing some problems for the rest of the defence. Second half was better and Barnsley had less sight of goal. For me he and Gorkks are probably the best partnership if Matt can get his confidence back. A couple more clean sheets should do the trick.

Will always support our players at the match, always.
But, I do reserve the right to come on here and express the hope that a player, any player, who is having stinker after stinker, and is plainly suffering a lack of confidence, that he be dropped.
It's nothing personal, just a wish that we play all who are on the top of their form, that's all.
And there can be little doubt, that Matt needed dropping, can there?

He was a goal waiting to happen first half, had a poor 45 mins.

Sorted himself out 2nd half though.
