Has just overtaken Venables and only Dowie's record is better since 1920 -

Dowie 52.94% pld 17, won 9, drew 3, lost 5
Warnock 50.94% pld 53, won 27, drawn 18, lost 8
Venables 50.6% pld 166, won 84, drew 33, lost 49

Admittedly, Neil has only managed less than a 3rd of games to El Tel, but his 'lost' ratio is spectacularly low also.

Of course, Warnock's % will continue to change and IF promoted, likely drop significantly in the Prem.

But it shows what a good job he's done for us. Not that most needed that confirmation I guess.

Can't really compare Dowie and Warnock as Dowie lost 5 games out of 17 whereas NW has only lost 8 out of 57, going on that ratio Dowie would've lost approx 15 games if he was manager for the same amount of games

Correct, but to be fair, I was (mainly) only comparing Win ratios.

I think its unfair to compare Venables record with the others as it was a different story when you competed for a 2pt win as opposed to the 3 pts that are on offer now. As Venables started his management when the wins were worth 2 pts and finished his tenure when they were worth 3.
It is considerably more important to record wins now then it was then, imo. Also the most important thing is not wins and losses but how many points you accumulate as that is what determines where you finish each season.
So, if you compare the stats for each manager over a 100 game period (using the percentages - rounded for convenience) it shows.

3 pts/win:
Venables 173 pts
Dowie 177 pts
Warnock 187 pts

2 pts/win:
Venables 122 pts
Dowie 124 pts
Warnock 136 pts.

It would appear that Venables and Dowie are comparable (although Venables did it for a far longer period) but Warnock would seem to be the clear winner - so far.
