    Warnock plans QPR talks

NEIL Warnock is to hold talks with the QPR board on Tuesday to discuss strategies for life in the Premier League.

There is likely to be a preliminary debate about the amount of money the Rangers boss will need to make an impact in the top flight, should they get there.

"We'll be talking in general about the rest of the season and what we will be looking for in the summer, depending on where we are," said Warnock.

"We can't really do too much until we know for certain what division we're in.

"I don't think we can start planning just yet, but we've got to cover all eventualities. We may discuss budgets, but it's not certain."

Smacks of arrogance and complacency. Even if true and necessary, don't broadcast it. No doubt this will be pinned up in the Norwich, Cardiff and Swansea dressing rooms. A simple "we're not promoted yet and need to focus our concentration in meeting that goal. We won't discuss these things until that time" statement is all you need.

    Foot. Aim. Blam.

Agree a tad premature but it would only be worth pinning up if we had Norwich, Cardiff and Swansea still to play, but we dont. All we need to do is beat Sheffield Utd, Scunthorpe and Derby to get promotion.

After saying that, on the back of beating Leeds and Cardiff, Sheffield Utd are 13-2 to win tonight ..................

Strange that you seriously think that Nodge..

We are the best side by far and away and they can pin what they want on the walls, it wont affect us going up.
Infact I have heard Rodger and Lambert in interviews already saying we are as good as up, so harldy likely to inspire their teams!!

Nothing wrong with preparation at all in my eyes.

Nodge think you might be forgetting that we are 10 points clear of 3rd and that could be 13 after tonights game. I understand the counting your chickens before they've hatched and all that but come on fella we have to start planning ahead. Did he need to broadcast it via the media - probably not, but games are running out and the table doesn't lie.

Nothing wrong with prep by all means - we're in a great position and certainly needs to be done, just don't shout if from the rooftops.

Firstly it smacks of arrogance and secondly pushes prices northwards for any potential target.

As Jeffro said, I've heard managers & pundits alike talking as if we're already up. All the chat is about who will get 2nd spot.

Agree with Nodge to a certain extent though regarding a slight bit of arrogance. But who cares really we've earned the right.

It's something printed in a newspaper and probably not written in the way it may or may not have been said - context and snippets of NW's words may make it seem that way - but I honestly don't believe Warnock is arrogant or complacent and everytime I've heard him speak in person he has said exactly what you say above - we're not promoted yet and all our focus is on that.

I can't see anything arrogant in that at all. I would be very surprised if other clubs in the promotion places have not done the same already. Considering Norwich willing to loan McKail Smith and buy him in the summer for 3 million odd. Definitely would have come out of next seasons budget. Warnock openly says we can't do much as we don't know where we will be.
15 years in the wilderness will be a distant memory come Sunday 8th May 2011.

The root of the word 'arrogance' derives from Latin and Greek. 'ar' from the Greek - 'without' and 'rogare' from the Latin - 'to ask'. Someone who is arrogant is literally 'someone who has no questions'

The fact that Warnock and the board are investigating a likely scenario shows prudence not arrogance.

god I learn something new everyday on this board, well said that man.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!
