    Shane Long

Anyone else reckon he is worth bidding for in the summer?.

Having a great season and i reckon he could do a job for us in the Prem. That's providing Reading don't go up through the playoffs as he would probably stay then imo.

defo stan...well worth a look. very lively player who knows where the net is. might take time to bed in -at prem level but one for the future with a good chance of a decent profit if bought at the right price....thumbs up from me.

Yeah Bush mate.Really come on this season and looking a quality player. We missed out on Hooper and Jackson last summer, and Austin in Jan, so would like to see us make a bid for him in the summer.

The only player for me would be Danny Graham, he would be cheap and his wages would be manageable.

Thing is with Long he could be happy to stay with Reading in the prem..... I noticed they've crept into 6th spot and most of the clubs from 6th to 11th seem to be stumbling and stuttering along so frankly any of them could end up in play-offs lottery.

Reading are definately one to watch regarding playoffs.Hopefully they mess it up and that could bring Long into the equation.Looks a quality player and i reckon has the talent to cut it in the Prem.

Momentum is everything in the play-offs - just look at Blackpool - and I wouldn't be surprised to see Reading come out on top now.

If they don't however then I agree Shane Long merits serious consideration, there's definitely a good player player in there. Besides his recent good form in the league he was excellent for Ireland in midweek too.

Do people really still feel we "missed out" on Simeon Jackson? So many flavour-of-the-month strikers we've supposedly needed have since faded away (Gary Hooper is the sole exception by my reckoning).

Definitely could be worth a punt but I would look at raiding some of the relegated sides. Players like Cameron Jerome, Kevin Doyle and maybe even Kevin Phillips might be better options

Age is my only worry about Phillips.Great player but is about 37 i think.

Don't really think Jerome has shown he is Prem quality.Doyle is a good shout but i think Long will be the viable option if Reading don't go up.

hooper was one player we missed out on....quality. not sure we even had a sniff tbh.
long is slowly but surely making inroads at international level also-invaluable experience. if reading fail...he's the kind of player that we'll end up looking at.-

Long and Doyle maybe? Both at Reading but not sure if they played much together could be a good partnership.

Doyle is no longer at Reading - he is a Wolves and now out for the remainder of the season.

I'd rather we hijacked Drogba's supposed move to MLS. Maybe signing for us would appeal to him as a way of "sticking two fingers" up to Chelski for benching him for Torres.
