i was 11 at the time and i seem to remember most of of those euro games were at night! i used to get under the crash barrier at the corner of the loft near the s.africa road stand with my mate chris , where we spent most of the match messing around chucking our scarfs and porgrames on the pitch and making poor old jim the steward with the pick them up for us! i think the team we played was fc kolin and we won 2 or 3 -0!

that should have read "poor old jim the steward with the beard". I think he shaved off half his beard when we got to the quarters and was going to shave the rest off if we got to the final but dave webbs missed pen saved him the bother! i always say now that my fave player ever was stan the man but know you got me thinking, as a kid my fave player was thomas i just loved the way he tore down the wing and crossed in some lovely balls! ive had a soft spot for wingers ever since, mind you in todays football he would have to pull his socks up! do you get pull his socks up! ill get me coat.

i also remember a steward who used to go in goal for a laugh in the pre-mach kick about and a few of the players used to kick balls at him. he still works as a steward at rangers in the east paddock! there was also a bloke in the s.africa rd stand who was really fat and the joke in the part of the loft where i stood was he must have to pay for two seats!
