In the old days you never had the CCTV and police videos so it was easier to kick off.In my days as a hoolie,the 80's/90's,it was okay but you still needed to watch your back when they started giving out the big jail terms.

Rangers have the record for taking the most amount of fans to Wembley.

We have had lots of games where we have taken big supports and normally played **** poor.

Remember Highfield Rd very well. Port Vale away. Man Utd away in the Quarter Final of the FA Cup. Man City - Pollock game. Wimbledon away in the cup. Been loads over the years.

i reckon cos the touts must of found it easier to get their hands on our allocation of tickets, and the yi ds had more demand for them than us.

the ***s were and still are largely supported and could and must have queued up at LR FOR the replay tkts..it was all so easy then.1st come 1st served.i remember west ham v fulham cup final 75 and we must have had at least 3k in that fulham end,including me.

Did read that we did take the biggest ever support to a wembley final, we def had a lot more than oxford lol.

Apparantley we sold over 60k against Oxford and that is the highest ever by a team at Wembley.And won't ever be beaten as the coporates/sponsors recieve a large chunk.

Think it was 67k.

I can confirm that in the 86 milk cup final we sold 67000 tickets. The overall gate was 92000.

Actually sold 51,000 for match against Oxford, biggest allocation and sale of tickets ever given to 1 team at Wembly

Unfortunately that figure has now been surpassed by Millwall on a couple of occassions. They had 58,000 for Auto windscreens Final v Wigan (old Wembley) and a similar figure when they played Scunny (new Wembley) in play off final.

i remember there being loads of coaches.if memory serves me right this was near end of season with qpr close to promotion.and think you won 2-1 ?

they never took it.i was there 2 hours before kick off..qpr came in early and got to back of holte,then villa led by a geezer with a limp gathered a little mob and fought back to reclaim half of it..so IMO You had half of it but not an end take..but a great turn out from you that day..

Hammer I was there early too, that is 100% correct. Lot of "creative accountancy" going on in this thread. I've been in most of the huge away turnouts, and some of em have been wildly exagerrated. Replay in 82 I think we returned some tickets ffs.
