Blimey you do go on Morris - telling me what I don't know sounds an awful lot like preaching to me.

I wouldn't dream of telling someone I've never met what they "obviously" don't know. OK then? Please climb down of your that horse there's a good chap!

What about hargreaves? He wouldn't be able to command anywhere near the size of wages he's on at man u. But he's surely worth a 1 year contract to prove himself. If he gets to anywhere near his previous level, we'd have a top player who can play anywhere along midfield and full back.

Is he/will he ever be fully fit again though?

It's a risk but if he hadn't been injured he'd be one of top midfielders in england and regular in national team...and we'd have no chance of signing him. But now, who knows. I'd say I'd warnock wants him, we'd have a chance. One thing you can guarantee with the bloke is that he'll give his all.

Because your original post stated there was nothing exciting on that list, which considering there are fully fledged German/French internationals on there seems an odd comment to make.

Maybe you should of said "realistically there's nothing to get excited about."

            Anyway....

The list sucks and the only 2 people I would take from it is Danny Murphy or Lee Boyer to replace Derry if his legs are not up to it, but as we have no chance of meeting their wages............................

I spoke to Derry up at Donny and asked if his legs were up to the last 8 games
He said they were and would be ready to go again next season - we smiled, shook hands on the promise and I went home happy

Danny Murphy would be a superb acquisition. Not many others on there. I'd take Lee Bowyer, I know many wouldn't though.

I know it would never happen but someone "like" Alessandro Nesta, even at 34 would be a great signing. Allardyce used to pull similar signings out of the blue for Bolton (Djorkaeff, Hierro, Okocha etc) who all did a fantastic job. No reason we couldn't given our location. You'd only need to put Nesta and Pirlo up in the Aerial Hotel and they'd be 5 mins from the training ground and 2 hours from home in Milan via Heathrow. Job done!

Sounds expensive it would be cheaper to offer them a property or holiday inn.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

I'd definitely take Reo-Coker, hasn't been great for Villa recently but Warnock could get the best out of him.

Luke Young too but doubt he'd take the pay cut.

The European players are well out of our reach - Jankulovski maybe. (That Taye Taiwo is a brilliant player btw.)

Of those I would consider/be interested in:

                            Nigel Reo-Coker – possible
                            John Carew – possible
                            Sebastian Larsson – highly unlikely
                            Johan Elmander – highly unlikely
                            Jose Boswinga – no chance
                            Zoltan Gera- unlikely
Owen Hargreaves – good player but permacrock
                            Michael Owen – see above
                            Jonathan Woodgate – see above
                            Matthew Upson – highly unlikely
Alesandro Nesta – would love it
Andrea Pirlo – great player, but unlikely (and not sure where he’d fit in)
Miroslav Klose – unlikely, but worth going for imho
Ruud van Nistelrooy – see above

also, it is worth factoring in those players that aren't out of contract, but aren't getting a look in at their current club. A case in point being Warnock at Villa - if Houllier is there next season he won't get a sniff at the first team.

Couldn't Flavio get Pirlo & Nesta in

Pirlo along with becks is the best striker of a football I have seen, espesh deadball.

Reo Coker & Gera would be good signings for a lower table prem side.

Not out of contract but here's Yakubu saying he'd consider staying at Leicester. Think we should get in there, I can't see many strikers of his calibre around...
