Best player in the world (similar to dot.orgs)

    Iniesta for me.

I had the absolute pleasure of watching him at the Nou Camp (or Camp Nou) a few weeks ago against Villarael. Not only did I get to see 6 goals, but I got to see Iniesta boss the game and not make a single mistake.

He makes football look so simple. His style and composure on the ball reminds me a lot of Zidane. Maybe not as majestic, but certainly as effective and assured.

Top, top class player with plenty more time to perfect his game.

I would have agreed with you a little while back, but he seems to lack consistancy in the big games.

Iniesta is mustard. European champion with Spain, the same with Barca and league and cup winner this season say a lot for me.

I can't see anyone stopping Spain in the upcoming World Cup either. So much quality and Iniesta is always at the center of it.

Messi. Thougth before watching him in Spanish football he was a class above but couldn't step up to the big matches. Proved last night he is the best in the world, and he's only 21 at the moment. Going to be up there with the greats.

Regardless of lastnights performance, I still think Ronaldo is a better player than Messi. He has more to his all round game than Messi. Far better in the air than Messi (although he scored a header) and has more strength and power. Goalwise, after this season there isn't much between them, although I still see Ronaldo as a bigger threat infront of goal. The Premier League is a much harder league to be able to score huge amounts of goals and also a lot tougher as far as staminer and physical attributes go.

Honestly, I doubt very much that Messi would be half as effective in England as he is in Spain where you get much more time and space to create.

I have blind hatred for that horrible, evil cretin Ronaldo so much so that I could never tell myself that he's the best player in the world. Think you've heard me have one of my rants when his name is mentioned.

Lampard on the list but no Ibrahimovic or Vidic (or any defender)?

Contradictively, I'd rather have Gerrard in my team than any other player for what he does and his leadership skills. The fact he covers the whole pitch and also knows how to both tackle and score makes him a very valuable asset. Can't argue with your choice too much mate, just that my opinion differs slightly.

I just think Iniesta is a better player as he does everything with such ease.

I don't rate Ibrahimovic that much. Great skill, I agree but he annoys the crap out of me.

There are many good defenders in the world, but none are good enough to be the best player in the world for me.

can't argue with your choice mate...but i tend to go more for hard graft than fancy play.....and also like you said his leadership qualities.....if only QPR had a player with even 50% of his qualities

Benny by your logic do you think that Iniesta wouldn't be half as effective in the prem then he is in Spain?

For me it has to be messi, having followed spanish football for sometime now, his development into a world class footballer has been frightfully quick, and being only 21 he will continue to improve, an absolute joy to watch

Also give Tevez a mention as up there. In my opinion in a roundabout way, he is the complete player with skill, can finish and runs himself absolutely ragged to cover the pitch every match.

                              Yes I do...

Iniesta can turn in a pass very quickly and still pull it off. He works well under pressure and is able to turn his man and lay the ball off in an instant. Messi wan't great lastnight whereas Iniesta was.

Messi wans't great against Chelsea in either leg, whereas Iniesta was. None of the United or Chelsea players got near Iniesta anywhere near as much as they should have been able to.

As I say, Iniesta reminds me a lot of Zidane. Flowing, slick and graceful passing allows his team to opperate with space and ease. His work rate is pretty tireless too as he always seems to be in the action, much to do with his off ball movement too. The options he gives and creates his team mates is incredible.

I almost sound like I want to marry the guy, but I'm genuinely in awe of what he brings to the game. An exceptional tallent.
