Bit disappointed he left. It wasn't like Parrett where the money effectively kept us out of administration.

I suppose though at the time, the parents took one look at the managerial merry go round and the other administration shenanigans with FB and thought, no thanks.

The article also says there is a healthy sell on clause, which could be 10,20 or even 25%. If he ever leaves for 20-40M like Rooney, Carroll etc. that could represent far more than the initial fee and add-ons.

I think what some of you have to bear in mind is that there is a lot of back handers/deals that go on behind closed doors. Liverpool like other clubs offer the parents incentives as well, I remember years ago some kids parents who presuaded their son to go to Man U got £250k.

Look at Bostock, I felt sorry for Crystal Palace as they could had got a lot more for him.

It is a real shame we got nothing for Sterling, but until they bring in a safety net for smaller clubs getting a fairer deal then it will continue to go on.

todays paper suggested we got 600k upfront, and depending on how he does for liverpool we can get upto £6m.
