You'll never walk alone was , of course, originally the Celtic anthem (and it was they that started the scarf thing to accompany it) but the red Scouse, as they do with everything, nicked it and made it their own after the Pacemaker version (which was a b-side of - or may have been the follow up to - Ferry Cross the Mersey I think for those into the geneology of football chants!) .

I don't think you can do hijack a song from a club you play which have already established a reputation for it being theirs. Though quite a few have now lifted that soppy chip butty song from Blades.

Not sure I want to either. But if we were to adopt one (and we may soon get a chance to boom this out again for the first time in a generation) the anthem I would favour is one I recall most vividly from the 82 Cup Final replay, when the team walked the pitch at the end and came up to our end of Wembley...... Remember ....."We're proud of you, We're Proud of you, We're proud of you Rangers"
