Can't rest him. Our main threat is Routledge and Taraabt, both need to be on the pitch if fit. Buzz coming back might give us that option but he would need to get match fit, but Tarbs is playing so well at the moment you just have to play him. The next 4 games are massive and we can look to assert a healthy gap, its far to tight to be resting our best players.

I'd be tempted to rest Taarabt for Hull

I played sunday league football today.
Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.
I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.
We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it! -
It would make more sense resting Adel when we play Pompey next Tues.
Play him at Hull, and at Reading, but rest him inbetween.Comment

If we actually look at Taarabts stats its at home where he performs best something like 11/13 goals have come at HQ. I'm looking at this fixture in terms of the result we will probably get and how much Taarabt will be up for it. Its easy to say he should start every game but the reason we have a squad is so these decisions can be made.
Someone suggested on here he kinda strolls around and doesn't really bust a gut....well thats absolute rubbish, he operates in a free role and is always looking for the ball I would probably say he covers more ground than anyone in the team bar Derry and Faurlin.
I believe we have a squad capable of getting a result be it a point or win without Taarabt. I feel Pompey, Reading & Forest are 3 more winnable games and view Hull as one of those sort of games we'll be grateful for the point.
It is our home form what will win us the league so resting Taarabt at home is a big no no in my view.Last edited by The White City General; 27-01-2011, 10:42 PM.Comment

I agree, it's not all or nothing, Adel can be taken off with 30/20 mins to play, or he can come on in the last half hour. If the guy is in good form and scoring, you don't take him out, why take a draw when you can stretch your lead?I think Adel will play every game left this season but NW will sub him on 60mins and bring on Peter Moon/Buzz (when he's fit). I've said this many times before this season NW does not change the team unless people are injured.
It wouldn't surprise me if Adel develops a mystery injury just before the Morocco game!Comment

I see can your point mate, but there is no way NW would do that. He has already rested him against Blackburn. One possible way could be If we are like 3 or 4-0 up by half time, then he may take him off by the end of the half.QPR fan since1987

No way would i rest Adel. He could be the difference between a point or 3 and can you imagine the reaction on here god forbid if we lose and we'd rested Adel.Comment

NAh he's been knocking around lately on here.. Just kept quiet on the Adel front as i guess he realised he looked very silly from past comments.
Even Pawl i think now wouldnt want Adel dropped/rested whatever, despite his dislike for our superstar!!Comment
