Loathe as I am to armour anyone's handbag or stir it up but there are other and perhaps better/more pertinent examples. Both of runaway leaders throwing it away (e.g. Watford were top and 8 points clear and ended up losing the first round of the play-offs) or of teams coming out of nowhere to get promoted (even last year when Blackpool at this point were unfancied and 8th and bought wisely (inc DJ Campbell), went on a run qualified for and won the play-offs).Originally posted by The White City General View PostI'm very chilled your the one who tried to be clever using the only example at your disposal.
Its technically possible for Palace to make the Play Offs but it ain't gonna happen is it.
Facts ladies. Them is a bitch for message boards.

It is the Watford example that should give you chills, though you have to say that was at least partly compounded/ self-inflicted by selling during the window. But on the other hand half-way leaders win nothing and others around them stregthened which was the point of this thrtead I think.
I am no statto but pretty sure Ipswich most royally ****ed it up - 2005 I think. Top at end of Jan, ended 3rd and never came out of the playoffs. The year West Ham went up from the play offs ims
All these examples and facts seem lost on some above.
