Sounds bitter that people have access to more information then back in the days and that rumours he got first are now put out on the web before he can announce them
Its great to live in an age were we can access this info rather then wait for it to be in the papersComment

Peter, mate...I'm not sure where he's said you benefit from this site. Just that some posts are designed to attract traffic. I think that's fair comment, and fair play to you as well.
No need to get narky over this though, is there?
And with the whole fantasy/puppet thing, you can't really moan mate. You are friends with GP (Not that I'm condemning you for it...Fair play in fact), so you are bound to get these comments. On the other hand, when you predict the number of signings as you do, with things like 'done deal' etc., then once again, you must expect the digs.
I was told of quite a few this season. Some came off, and some didn't. Like WOB, I am not arsed whether or not people believe me. I pass on info, just as you do. The difference is, you seem to get yourself involved in petty squables over them.
Why let it bother you?
As far as I can see...Clive is having a laugh, and that's no real problem. You like to take the p**s yourself mate, so what's the difference?
No real malice intended in this, IMO.

The thing I really hate about QPR forums/messageboards is that they seem to be more about the owner themselves rather than QPR. Why can't we have a normal fans forum like other teams? (see cpfc.org etc, always busy, not talking about other websites/owners all the time). WATRB is about Pete, QPR Report is about QPR Report, IndyR's is about Paul Finney, qprdot.org is about Drew Garrow, LFW is about Clive apparently.
Why can't you website owners wind your necks in a bit and give the fans somewhere to talk about their team rather than you lot with your egos?Comment

At the risk of being shot down here... I don't think Clive is bitter about this site posting rumours first.
It seems he just finds it all a bit pathetic that people go chasing kudos for it.
Let's be honest here, it's partly about attention seeking. Nothing massively wrong with that, but it is.
I like Clive, out of all the web-authors out there...I think he writes the best articles on all things QPR, and hits the nail on the head more than most.
And I rarely go on his site to read, and never post on there.
I like Pete, in a different way.... he's funny. I'm not sure it's intened to be funny some of the time, but there you go!
All these cyber-noses put out of joint, it's all a bit petty really.
Oh and please don't critisize me for this opinion... because I might take it to heart, lash out and cry.

The idea of providing a fans website is to provide a place where fans can come and enjoy other fans company, share news and provide some content like we used to with the old Pete's Latest which was fun, silly.
I mean where in the world would you find someone coming out of a cupboard?

Agreed; he's normally a very good read, why does he feel the need to make bitchy comments..... playground mentality clearly!Wonder if he would have found it a "boring ******thon" if he hadn't have been beaten to the story?
Speaking as one on here who is actually a trained journalist who has sat through classes on libel law etc etc I have to say that while he speaks a certain amount of sense he also sounds a little bit bitter to me that he hasn't got a story, just a whinge.
Maybe stick to what he's good at!Comment

Obviously Clive went fishing and Pete has bitten.
Really think Pete's best reaction would be no reaction at all and rise above it. No one wants to see two guys fighting in a playground.
Why am I expecting Pete to say, "Well, he started it"?

I always thought MBs were discussion forums where you go to discuss a common interest.
Any person taking what they read on MBs as serious cutting edge news, really are living in cloud cuckoo land.
I thought the original post on here was very amusing, but nothing that I or many others were not fully aware off.
The fact that some on here & other boards get frustrated at rumours/stories not coming true, really live a shallow existence & need to get out more.
The fact the people like Pete are constantly attacked for their views/posts does concern me slightly.
If rumours/speculations did not appear on these MBs, then the banter would become nothing short of mediocre.
I read up on forums for the humour angle more than the serious angle; occasionally I do allow myself to get carried away by a rumour, but I always know it is just a rumour & nothing else until it is made official.
I like many, don't assume nothing is a done deal until it appears on the offish. Even the reputable tabloids/news papers get it wrong constantly.
OK I'm off to Twitter to see if @MassiThe Man is still interested in The Managers job at QPR
