Funny how Warnock didnt want loans

When he came into the club, he told media he did NOT want more than 1 loan, Now due to our board he is being forced 3 Loans in this transfer window..

Cant they just buy Routledge, I mean we know what he can do..
Hardly a gamble and perfect player for promotion..

    FFS buy, Dont loan

I knew this would come up again. I think it's been taken out of context. At the time, we had more loans than you were actually allowed to field. I think that was the point he was trying to make.

I'm all for loans if they help improve the side.

Take McCarthy and Routs for instance. Are they good enough to help us to promotion? More than likely, yes.

Are they good enough for us in the Prem? Possibly not.

Why get stuck with them on a permanent contract?

    Great business IMO.

      Playing Devils Advocate here......

Not if he's only gonna perform at a peak for the first few months of joining.
Which is pretty much what he's done throughout his career and various clubs. After starting well and full of promise, he fades and within a year has got his agent to move him elsewhere.

Plus, if he's not good enough in the Prem for Newcastle (or Aston Villa, or Tottenham) who's to say he'll be any good for us ?

So loan or short term injection of pace and interest only for me.

I would rather us loan at the moment and start spending if we make Prem

Benny you are missing my point entirely.
Neil said he didnt want loans, the board have obviously backed him and said " yeah we agree"

But something has changed between now and then, and is Neil happy about this??

Let the knowledge talk and you can keep your ludicrous tactical decisions to other threads yeah?/ lol

Jeffro he did, but i think maybe that was said before they got to the position they are in now(if that makes sense) I think Neil thought we would only be in maybe the play offs and if so - then would inject some new signings

No that we are clear with game in hand, better than he previously thought..maybe the board and neil are in a hard place.

Do they buy 4-5 players like newcastle did last season, but when promoted, only 1 is now a first team player.Or - if they splashed out now and we didn't make it, we would be left with players in higher wages in CC c for another season.

Makes sense to me....with current team/squad..plus a few loans here of there, if we do get promoted, means we can plan with clean slate..

Just a theory...if it makes sense..

Or he's been given a budget for next season and told any spendature before hand will be deducted?

                            Only a thought mate.

I still think this is the right way to go.

I don't have a real problem with this number of loans at this point ion time. I can see it makes sense to hget what youy need to push you over the line. I would much prefer it was not a rule though. If there was someone out there we wanted that needed to be bought and who we would want in the Prem next year anyway then the Board ouight to back Neil to get them. That's not sentiment it is business - we may be at risk of throwing the baby out with the bathwater if we miss out on key personnel which scupper the promotion. And if we make it without them and come back from the prem next year chances are we'll pay more. The Board should authorise him to do what it takes for at least one of the (4?) slots.
