Simon Cox was Swindon too before his move IIRC

That's a bit of a steal. Would be a good signing for us.

Its quite obvious that we won't be paying any fees so where is the relevance in discussing Austin as a potential striking option?

You're right, it's quite obvious that we haven't got the ambition to really go for it now. Let's continue to do it on the cheap.

Disagree ambition is matched by us in terms of wages we pay. I would assume it is easier for clever accounting to hide wages etc over lump sum transfer fees.

Discussing players who require transfer fees paid is what is pointless.

                  Laughable, ridiculous and plain S.T.U.P.I.D

If as expected Routlegde,Miller,Shittu plus one arrive I take that as a statment of intention. Burnley have parachute payments etc...

We get 15K crowds at a push. WTF do some people expect

Add to that the reality of the situation. Who knows if Austin will cut it in the Championship, let alone the PL if we get there. Likewise with various other names mentioned on here recently.
We are showing ambition with the potential loans coming in - an ambition to get to the PL without having yet more passengers next season.
Lets face it we have a stack of players not good enough for PL football so why shell say £1.2 M now on a lad that may simply not cut it next year. Take the loans that will take far less time to settle, get promoted and then spend money on transfers.

its crazy to think we won't spend 1.5mil for a young striker who knows where the net is-the mind boggles!!!

Indeed - exactly my point. Always on the cheap, never take any chances, never get anyone who is also wanted by other clubs.

I think what Sprocket said sums it up - were building towards the prem, theres no aruing this guy can find the net - but its a gamble and do we want to gamble at this stage in the season? We need to have guys on board who are proven at this level or higher.

                            Warnock knows what he's doing.

bonkerrrs-1.5 mil is not a lot of dough to spend on a young player.if he did'nt cut it in the prem then you'd get your money back off another champ team. we only need him to get enough goals for the rest of this season and he's good enough to do that imho.
