pretty sure he played more then 100 games for luton twranger, at the time also luton were league 1. Cant remember lived in luton at the time so always in the local paper.

I don't know how many games he played for Luton, but he was playing for them at Championship level. He must have had a good season or two for Birmingham to pay a 7 figure fee for him.

He was on loan at Brentford in League 1 when QPR were playing in the same division.

To judge him only on his goals per game ration is unfair as he has often played as a winger. Just like Tommy Smith does. He has scored 98 goals in nearly 500 games.

Vine was no world beater i grant you but he was a top CCC player for Luton before Brum paid over 1m for him so you are wrong there robbo. Never a prolific goalscorer but a good link up forward, a poor mans Sheringham if you like.
