Set pieces

i know we cant complain to much having had 2 absolutely massive wins BUT.........Set pieces are poor. Adel is good outside the area curling them in for a header but his corners and shot on goal free kicks let him down. We have a big presence in the box from corners, Hill, Gorkks, connors, Hulse/hh yet we rarely seem to beat the first man, id like to see tommy smith whipping some in? any thoughts or just call me a boring w anker

Actually I agree with you. For someone of his amazing skill Tabs is surprisingly poor at set pieces. Its one of the few areas we have grown weaker in, probably due to the virtually permanent loss of Buz through injury

Not a new thing we have been consistently bad at corners for years now.

I wish I had a pound for every time we failed to get the ball past the defender
on the near post.

Totally agree,we need to mix it up a bit,show a of bit invention and
let other members of the team have a go.

I do not understand why the corners free kicks etc seem to
fall exclusivly for Adel to take.Even if it was a simple tap to Adel
so he could take them on down the wing instead of just curling
it into the middle.A bit of variation would be good IMO.

I think the free kicks is similar to the captains role.

Neil wants to make him feel like the main man and the captaincy and free kick taker/corner taker involves all his responsibiltys. Agree I think Smith should at least take the corners as they did improve when he was taken off. Maybe Neil doesn't want to rock the boat and just lets adel get on with it all. At least helguson now takes penaltys
