      From recent memory -

Roberts is injured. Also on record as saying he wants to stay and fight for his place under new Owners and Management. Think he turned us down in the Summer as we wouldn't match his wages. So must be very unlikely.

Watson & Pantsil, both appear to be having a good run in their respective sides. Thus both doubtful.
But I guess the Warnock link, means there's still a chance of Watson, although if Z'Ogbia leaves, they won't need to cash in on Ben.
If as suggested Walker stays until May, Panstil won't be required.

I like the sound of Curtis Davies and Matty Fryatt though.

It'll be interesting to see who (if anyone) leaves with Borrowdale, Mahon, Legs, Cook, Rowlands, Vine all seeming surplus to requirements.
Then there's Alberti & Pellicori, but out of sight, out of mind.

All depends on what happens next 4 games.
Don't believe that we have such a short-sighted and knee-jerk transfer policy - we must surely be taking a longer-term view when spending money.

What would have happened if we beat Watford/Leeds - no transfer activity in early January? What if then lost the next 3 games - panic in the last week of Jan?

Then don't sign Leon Best for the sake of it. You said on another thread that if it were a choice between him or nothing you'd choose him but that is just adding to the quantity - and for the record Leon Clarke's record is better than Leon Best's at this level.

I like the look of Charlie Austin. Young and hungry, and his goal-scoring record speaks loudly. At 21, there is likely to be scope for improvement.

IMO, Much better option that going for a 30+, on the way down, high wages, high maintenance, premier league type.

Players from non-league/lower leagues can go on and play at the highest levels (e.g. Sir Les, Cyrille Regis, Steve Bull). And we should be able to put a n attractive package together for him.

Fryatt meant to be a done deal for Hull.

Would like to see us get Austin in as he looks a top prospect.

WAS GIVEN THREE NAMES today at the Coventry game:
                          Walker
                          Smith
                          Moen
