      Get real.
It's all very well saying that "We need to sign premiership players"... but there are 3 big problems with that.

      1. Premier League players play in the Premier League.
      2. They cost a lot of money.
      3. We are in the second division.

We do need an injection of quality. But to mention Robbie Keane and his type is fantasy stuff.
The papers today are saying Birmingham are about to bid £6m for Keane.

Carlton Cole is a rumoured target for Liverpool, apparently. (Yeah, I know?!)

Even Jason Roberts has done his hamstring, and is out for a few weeks now.

Id be more looking at a Chopra,Nicky Maynard,Jermaine Beckford or even Graham from Watters looked decent enough.

Defo Chops & Beckford. (Is Maynard fit yet?)

Beckford is getting game time so not sure he would be available but Chopra could be a goer by the sounds of things in South Wales.

Is Andy Johnson a regular at Fulham? Glasgow Rangers dont have a pot to pish in how about James Beattie.

Think AJ played last week. Beattie is getting very little game time at Rangers so another decent option. Although I'd rather have Kenny Miller of course.

Kenny Miller is playing in the Europa League with Rangers... going for the Scottish title.
Number one striker in the Scots national team.

Please don't get me wrong, I'm not pouring cold water on stuff for the sake of it, or looking for a row(!) and I'd love to see someone of his standard roll up at W12.... but these types of player are way out of our range while we are still in this division.
Same as Andy Johnson, same as Robbie Keane, same as Beckford.

It's just that I can see a lot of disappointment on the way when we don't sign a Prem player from many fans... when in reality, it was never going to happen.

Maynard, Chopra (amazed if CCFC sold him to us), Nugent (wage cut required), Charlie Austin, LeFondre, Kilgallon, Curtis Davis, etc.. are possible, and about the very best we can hope for I suppose.
Maybe Kevin Phillips would come down to this league on loan, purely because of his age.

But last summer showed that people can get very down on new signings, when they are seen to be from a lower level/price than many wished for.

Agree maybe the ones listed are abit ambitous but i wouldnt want us to pin all our hopes on a Charlie Austin or Adan Le Fondre only for them to be out of the depth, look at Simeon Jackson not exactly pulling up any trees at Norwich.

Im sure Uncle Neil has it all in hand.

                      Yep.

I just see a few posts saying that we need to get players who are Premier League quality, for when we go up.
Yeah, that would be great, in theory.

In reality, we need players who can get us up.. not worry about what we may need in the summer, depending on what league we are in.

Get up, then worry about how we'll get on at Old Trafford and Anfield.

When Cardiff bought Bothroyd and Chopra, those two players weren't even getting a game in the Premier League.
One was a flop at Sunderland, the other was a reject from Wolves (while they were in this league).
Now they are held up as the best in this league, and what we seem to wish for.

Im sure Marcello Lippi has already identified his possible targets should we get up this year.

                          Yes.
Lippi is keeping a close eye on Rory Fallon, as we speak.

Every transfer window since the "money!!!" came in has been a disappointment, and as Bernie is famously tight, I'm preparing for more!
