Not bad but not great. He managed a team for 44 matches whilst in the same time we had Dowie, Ainsworth, Sousa, Ainsworth and had the loss of our three main players. The bonus though to his appointment is that he speaks the language, he knows the oppositions, his teams play good football, he has a good record at getting points away from home and we historically have always had a good record of getting points at home so the two combined should be good.

We really may as well had stuck with Dowie.

not a really good record for our ambitions as a club...looks like mid table stats to me which we already are as a club....so no improvement in my eyes.

Just found this old thread of mine, which states that Magilton averaged 1.4 points per match during his time at Ipswich. He managed us for 20 matches and guess what? He got exactly 1.4. Goes to show however much the performances have improved he has over 4 seasons proved he would never get a team enough points to get a top 6 finish.

Also noticed that while our away form has improved under Mags our home form seems to have dropped considerably....

Very true.

Also to note that in the 23 matches Sousa was in charge he average 1.39 points a game without the likes of Simpson, Faurlin, Buzsaky, Watson, Agyemang, Vine etc.

NO Should have stuck with him and given him full control of the team. He has experience in the division and has got a team promoted (which puts him above all of the managers we have had since....) plus he built an excellent backroom team.

Hard to say. One thing for sure is that without instant results you are gone. No more building a solid, consistent quality over time retaining continuity, unity and focus. Its a leadership thing. I blame the board not the managers. 7 managers in two and a half years looks like poor recruitment to me and until the board improves its act we are in for more comedy capers.
