On the flip side of that argument, we could say that Warnock knew how to get the best out of those players and Burley doesn't and that under Warnock they may flourish again. I don't think those players suddenly became bad overnight and should be written off as no good just because of their league position. On that basis, we would never have signed Mackie. Burley's poor management has to be a big factor in their current position.
