Wayne Rooney is unlikely to have got the better of anyone that isn't on a football pitch. His agent is behind all of it.

Totally agree. He hasn't exactly been pulling up trees on the pitch recently either.

Good management in my book. Apparently got his basic pay risen from £90k to £125k & his image rights from £150k to £180k.

Paul Stretford taking 5% of his wages so was always in his best interest.

Anyway he's still an ugly shrek looking granny rumping, brass paying going bald scouser.

It's the Ronaldo situation all over again. Sign a new "improved" contract to get the fans back onside then come the summer, or January, hello Madrid/Eastlands/Stamford Bridge. Fergie won't tolerate him now and the nice noises are just spinning.

All it has done is delayed the inevitable and given United some more guaranteed income. I've heard that Man City have £100 million set aside to do this deal. Come the start of next season, I'd wager handsomely that either Ole Whiskey Face or Rooney won't be there.

That is exactly it Nodge, instead of 2 years United now have him on a 5 year, thus when selling can command more, for the meantime Rooney increases wages by 30 ood k a week, stretford is quids in. Wont be CL cup tied for club he joins either. Win Win for everyone!
