Is he going to be dropped for tommy smith though? Warnock seems to rate Hogan very highly. I've never been a big fan of Hogan but he has proved me wrong in part this season. His work rate is excellent but Tommy Smith is a cracking player and would like him to be given longer than 10-15 minutes to make an impact

alas hogan seems to be warno's love child (no wonder there is so much confusion about hogan's background/ nationality, etc...)

Ive read a few posts saying Mackie is low on confidence? Surely that cannot be right 8 goals in 12 and now his confidence is shot?

Would agree though with giving T.Smith.

Dont think hogan has played that well last few games may need a change there just to freshen up things, and get him back on form think he needs to go at players a bit more when we are under pressure he dosen't get the ball and keep it and drive forward always thought he lacked a bit of bottle

I'd start with Tommy Smith against Bristol too, but Hogan was far from 'terrible' last night. He went past his man on a couple of occasions and worked hard as always.

maybe saying he was terrible was abit harsh but he hasnt played that good recently and he is the player that will have to make way for smith as they play in the same position. smith is twice the player and isnt going to be happy coming off the bench for 15 20 mins every game

without him we would be 2nd and not top;there is more to the game than attacking, you have to defend as well

Not been an advocate of Hogan, buit much of his defensive work goes unnoticed especially agaisnt Swansea. When you have Sinclair and Dyer who switched wings, passing Hill, Hogan was always on hand and he has knocked 2 off the line this season.

Away matches, I think Hogan has been very good.

Think Smith may start against Bristol, it would make sense really our attack play hasn't been as good in the last few games and three games in 6 days is pretty hard going seems the perfect time to give Smith his full debut!
