Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
And many more mistakes
LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Do you know what? Whoever it is, we won't know if it will work or not. We can all have our opinions, obviously,, for example I really wouldnt be happy with Wise. But I've decided that whoever it is, I'm just going to accept it, get on with supporting the TEAM, and call it as I see it once the season progresses.

The only possible reason I could think of for it being Magilton is that he is one of a handful of people who want the job. Looks to me that Flabio has well and truly f'd the club over with his ignorant 'hands on' approach. As we all suspect, no manager worth his salt would stand for interference and we all know that is not the suntanned, rose-tinted ones way, so maybe Magilton is the best of those desparate enough to take the 'project on'.
Still, sacked (sorry, terminated...) three months into a three year contract would mean three years pay in three months - not bad, eh!?

well im gutted
well im gutted i wasted ten pounds in credit on my mobile phone taliking to gianni
i described venables as the saviour of our club
if not VENABLES GET GERRY FRANCIS IN ON A THREE DAY WEEK

we end up interveiwing donkeys like mcgilton boothroyde and god knows what ever rubbish
i hope knowone renews there season ticket if we get another donkey in
WHEN OUR OWNERS REALISE YOU CANT GET A CRAP MANAGER IN AND EXPECT TO GET PROMOTED ONLY THEN WILL WE GO UP
for the last time get us venables or francis

Just because its Magilton why is he referred to as such? Because he does not meet some fans wildly unrealistic criteria, thats why!
Think JM would be a good REALISTIC choice.
Well that's just it isn't it ...we need to show some ambition and be after Chelsea/West Ham rejects ..not a manager who spent 3 years at Ipswich achieving nothing but mid-table mediocrity ...I don't think the likes of Curbs or Roy Keane are unrealistic expectations.
As others have said though if he's the man in charge we have no choice but to get behind him and hope he does the business ...but its hard to believe we've got rid of Dowie and Sousa and now possibly end up with Magilton ...certain members of this board led us to believe we got rid of Sousa to make a big name appointment?

Some are rejects due to poor performances other are rejects due to disagreements with owners....familiar to you?
The circumstances of which a manger leaves a club makes a difference as to whether they are a underachieving manager or not.
My thoughts anyway. The future's bright...the future is blue and white.

This word " ambition" (or lack of it) is being bandied around quite a bit. Do you honestly believe that the board lacks ambition in principal? I am sure they are ambitious and want the best for our club. I agree with you that Curbs and Keane are not unrealistic targets, and if rumours are to believed they were approached and maybe even interviewed for the job. The fact that these two for example were approached, does show that there is ambition imho. The problem is that the board can sound out who they like, but whether these managers want to work at QPR under the circumstances which currently prevail is a different matter entirely. So I do believe there is ambition, but if these ambitions fail, they have to cut their cloth accordingly and go for the likes of Magilton, who I personally think would be an OK appointment. I believe someone else pointed out on another thread, that when we have played Ipswich in past under JM, the consensus of opinion was that we would come away with nothing, ie Ipswich were a half decent side under him. How opinions can change!Originally posted by eghamR View PostWell that's just it isn't it ...we need to show some ambition and be after Chelsea/West Ham rejects ..not a manager who spent 3 years at Ipswich achieving nothing but mid-table mediocrity ...I don't think the likes of Curbs or Roy Keane are unrealistic expectations.
