To be fair, I really should have quit the board there and then........surprised you didn't find a way to give me some sort of infraction for that, or maybe for being unkind to Estonia

63 goals in 124 games, better than a goal every other game since 2006 and remember at 33 he is the same age as HH and he's not doing too bad at the moment.

gee I agree but where I disagree is the level of Norweigen football. They are saying there top league is a much better standard than the championship. That is the part I disagree with. Decent goal ratio even at league 1 standard.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

The QPR link is apparently from the Rosenborg ITK so don't shoot the messenger. ;)

Getting on a bit at 33 though, but a hugely talented player.
Can't understand this one and hope its not true to be honest, we have Helguson and Clarke and Hulse all fit that role, how about a little one with pace up there to change things if need be?

Not this person.... How dare you question his judgement. He is much more a man than you Mr Lofty. Wait a minute, let him prepare himself properly. The abuse is almost on its way.

On a serious note Mr Lofty, you're correct some will never learn. Many on here clearly know more than our manager who has 30 odd years experience in the game compared to us.

The level of norwegian football is getting really poor, but Rosenborg is in a league of their own.

Steffen would be a good signing. Agree Jeffro??? ;)
He's superb in the air, very intelligent player and is a better finisher then Heidar.
Laidback, and a great character in the dressing room.
Can't see him playing 40+ matches in a season, but I said the same about HH

Him and his wife(popstar Anna Crane) has a house in Hampstead, and I think he wants to finish his career in the UK

Just imagine we're 1-0 down to Chelsea in the cup, Warnock sends on Iversen and Hulse alongside Helguson. John Terry will **** his pants

He is AN EXPERIENCED international player in a decent Norwegian national team .So Why harp on about the level of norwegian fotball. Steffen Iversen is a player for the big occasions.

Tongue-in-cheek, or are you seriously suggesting that after facing the likes of Berbatov, Rooney, RVP, Chamak, Torres, Defoe, Bent etc., on a weekly basis, plus on occassion having to deal with the likes of Ronalso, Messi, Eto'o and Villa that Iversson would worry him?

Anyway, due to Steffan's age, I didn't think this would be the type of forward NW would go for. His goal scoring record speaks volumes, so it's clear he still knows where the net is. Could be a good signing, but either way, I'm sure NW knows what he's doing far more than any of us do.

I wouldn't go quite that far. Good scoring record, but with all due respect to Norwegian football...It's hardly Premiership, is it?

My point was the aerial presence of Iversen, Helguson and Hulse at the same time, would worry just about anyone

He's 33 not 43. The signings of Derry and Hill, plus the faith shown in Heidar tells me that NW likes the experienced ones. Hulse and Smith ain't youngsters either

                              So has Edgar Davids.

                              Next point.

Edit...And Tomassi played at all the top levels.
That didn't work out too well, did it?

I am not saying he'd be poor...Just that you're over rating him.

No it´s not:pleasantsuprise:. But what I meant to say is that he deliver what is needed when Rosenborg are facing international opponents. He is also at his best when he plays for Norway against presumably better teams.
I do also believe that he can make a real impact as a sub. But no way I will look at him as fringe player.
A point that often is referred to when Iversen is chatagorized as a player is his ability to read the game. In that respect he is also held in high regard not only within Norwegian fotball, but internationally as well.
