Christ, we're not going to be going on about 'the best midfield in the world' again are we????

That said, Lopez is a very tidy player and Buzz could be the man. BUT, to accommodate Buzz in his best position, would we not have to play one up front? He is not best when part of a midfield two, but when he is played behind a striker with adequate cover behind him. That means 3-5-2 (great for a team without full backs like us) OR 4-4-1-1 (something that most posters (not me btw) think is a no no at home).

    I'd sign him anyway...

        Lopez Rowlands

        Routledge Buzsaky Viney (Wide wingers)
        Cox

Now that looks good to me! ;D
        Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
        And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

One free kick wonder think there is better available.

Would much rather we signed the lad from Spurs rather than some journeymen from Spain looking for one last pay cheque.

                      :amazing: You can't be serious!

This guy is quality, he walks into our side.

                      ---------------lopez--------------

                      Routledge -------------------Taraabt/cook/vine(possibly)

                      -------------Buzsaky -----------

Vine(if not on left wing)/Agyemang New Striker

Or play Five in midfield with Rowlands or Legs.

Are you SURE that Cox is suited to a lone striker role? I am not. Blackstock wasn't and I believe that Cox is not the one up front we would be using. It is a very specialist position (you need to be able to hold the ball up[ and bring the midfield into play) and Helguson is by far and away the best (and only) striker we currently have on our books to play the lone role.

He is a quality player. I'm not even interested in his free kick, he has an all round game and obvious football intelligence that surpasses everyone in our squad in that position except Buzz.

Rubbish imo. My football knowledge isnt completely lacking, id just rather see next seasons midfield consist of the following members:

LM: Cook, CM: Rowlands if not fit then Leigertwood, CM: Buzsaky, RM: Routledge......

I would put Taarabt in there but i dont reckon he will sign for us.....
Cant believe it, ive been PWOPER MUGGED ORF...

Better than Vine, Connoly I think not.

He's 28 so hardly one last pay day.

De Carmine scored a wonder goal but it doesn't mean we all think he is great as a result of it. Lopez is our equivalent to Carsley (Brum) or Henry (Wolves). A grafter who goes quietly about their business but the work they do is vital.
