My thoughts exactly, plus he's a different type of striker to what we currently have.

I'm not for a minute trying to gloss this over, as I don't exactly rate him, but IMO we could do worse. If Roberts comes in, I can live with Varney. I suspect NW sees him as the type of forward who could in fact play just wide of the main striker, thus providing cover for Ephraim and Mackie.

we havent got much forward quality in the subs department, so if warnock wants him then who are we to moan.

Sure he is on good money, but if he was worth that money they would keep him.

I don't know, and sure it isn't a very inspiring signing, but if we got say Varney then one of Roberts/Kitson I'd be happy. NW knows what he's doing and obviously there's a reason he's not wanted at Derby - but I do know they are in the brown stuff financially so need him off the wage bill. Just find it funny how after slating him you now see he had a decent season last year

Yes I gave him abit of a caning. As did most. But after seeing his stats from last year ive got the balls to accept he had a decent season for a poor team, and may not be as bad as I first feared.
