    It's not About the money

Warnock may have said we've been priced out financially for Roberts but Roberts has said 'My 1st contract was for £15, it's not about the money'

If that's the case ffs get him.

        The guy is talking rubbish.....

Just show me one footballer today who isn't in it for the money.

My first job I got £45 a week, doesn't mean I would go for that now.

There is no loyalty in football. Chairmen aren't loyal to managers. Managers aren't loyal to clubs. Clubs aren't loyal to players. Players aren't loyal to clubs. Fans aren't loyal to players.

About the only loyalty left is the misguided loyalty of the fans who are constantly let down by the disloyalty of the club to the people who give it meaning.

Its not just modern day footballers.

Its allways been about the money! Rodney Marsh left for the money..

Its allways been the same, and the same go's for most jobs. Your a lier if you say money isnt a big part of you career decisions.

funny things is that we could get a striker on a free pay him 20k a week on a 3 year deal total cost 3 million...instead we buy someone ehos is crap for 500k and pay them 15k a week for 4 years total 3.5 million..... Good business!!!!!!

Precisely. I'm alright with being skint if that's the way it is, that's the Rangers we all grew up with, but the difference now is we're not even being smart with the money we do spend. There's a completely false binary here that ether we have to spend big bucks to succeed or the only alternative is Luke Varney. We don't. We get our scouts out there and find fellas that are young and hungry. The players are out there.

                  Absolutely true.

It pisses me off no end, to see QPR signing the likes of Clarke rather than Roberts.

Roberts is likely to score goals and bring others into play thereby creating more chances, which in turn is likely to win more games and perhaps promotion.

Now QPR are likely to sign someone like Varney, as if he will improve the squad.
